1953 TOPPS UNCUT SHEET (100 CARDS IN 10 STRIPS) FEATURING MICKEY MANTLE, JACKIE ROBINSON, ROY CAMPANELLA, EDDIE MATHEWS, PEE WEE REESE, BOB FELLER (DOUBLE-PRINT), ENOS SLAUGHTER, RED SCHOENDIENST, JOHNNY MIZE AND MONTE IRVIN. Mickey Mantle cards are going gone through the roof! While all these Mantle cards are scarce, they still dont match the rarity and unsurpassed beauty of this 1953 Topps Uncut Sheet. If only it would fit in a PSA holder!

Its comprised of 100 cards in 10 strips of 10 cards each that fit together to create a complete sheet. Its matted front and back to display both sides beautifully for easy viewing. Inside sheet measures approx 26 x 37.

Matted measures approx 31 x 42. All it needs is the frame of your choice to go right on the wall of your home or office. Only four 1953 Topps Uncut sheets are known to exist.

I have owned three of them, and this is by far the nicest of the three. Here's why: THE MANTLE CARD ON THIS SHEET IS CUT PERFECTLY AT THE BOTTOM! In fact, all the strips in my other two sheets were cut extremely diagonally, so the Robinson, Mathews and other cards were extremely miscut, too.

As you can see, this sheet is gorgeous! Theres just a slight diagonal cut on each strip, so they fit together stunningly. Just take a look at the Mantle and Robinson! The colors are rich and vibrant, and the cards are in fantastic condition with a few blemishes here and there. There are scuffs on some cards, like above the Reese.

And the bottom double-print Feller and two neighboring cards have creasing. Overall, though, it is in phenomenal condition.

The Mantle presents astonishingly beautiful on front. The back of the Mantle shows some paper loss near the top left corner that affects its two neighbors, but the rest of the Mantle back appears immaculate. You may be wondering how a 1953 Topps Uncut Sheet has survived the past 67 years.

The good news is I KNOW THE STORY AND HAVE PROVENANCE! Its a fascinating story that was the cover article in the August 1984 Baseball Cards magazine. Please see picture of cover.

The magazine in Mint condition will be included, complete with the entire story and great color pictures from the find. It was written by legendary collector & dealer Lew Lipset. Heres what Lew said about the find.

Topps had hired a carting company to dispose of their salvage in the Fifties, which task was apparently carried out diligently. In 1982, however, the original owner died and left the business to his son. A year later, the son ordered a cleaning of the warehouse (an infrequent occurrence), and in a corner he found a few dozen strips of 1953 Topps Baseball cards. I was lucky enough to be the original owner of two 1953 Topps Uncut Sheets that came straight from the find. I bought them back in 1989 directly from Rob Sevchuk, the card dealer who was part of the find. They remained in my possession for more than 25 years before I decided to sell them in two Goldin auctions. Here are the prices they fetched. This is the fourth sheet known to exist. Again, this sheet has a perfect cut through the bottom of the Mantle card! Mickey Mantle is the most popular baseball player of all-time and inspired generations of fans. Mantle belted 536 home runs, won two batting titles, including the Triple Crown in 1956, and won 3 MVP Awards. He won the World Series with the Yankees an amazing 7 times, and belted 18 World Series home runsa record that will probably never be broken. First ballot Hall of Famer, Yankee legend and arguably the greatest investment card in the hobby. Its a rare opportunity to add a truly spectacular 1953 Topps Uncut Sheet to even the most advanced collection.

Your sheet will be well-packed to ensure it arrives safe and sound. If youre also interested in other rare Mantle cards and Rookie cards, please see my other auctions.
