1956 Topps Baseball Near Complete Set (-14) Mantle + Major Stars + Hofers Vgex

  

BEAUTIFUL LOW-MID GRADE 1956 TOPPS NEARLY COMPLETE BASEBALL SET (missing 14 cards) LOADED WITH STARS AND HOFERS! Overall condition is a SOLID VG+/VGEX in MY OPINION, (your grading may differ slightly). I slowly put this set together within the last 5 years with the best cards I could find without spending thousands of dollars. Could use some light upgrading and it would be in the 4-5K range easily. Missing #10, 15, 30, 31, 33, 79, 110, 164, 226, 233, 235, 240, 255, 257.

LOTS of variation from mostly G to EX with the occasional higher or lower. The overwhelming majority is in the VG range with LOTS of EX or better cards and about 5-10% in lower grade. Harridge G/VG (print spots, NO creases, corner wrinkles). Williams VGEX (appears nicer, off center, corner wear, light surface crease).

Kaline EX+/EXMT (crisp card, minor corner wear only). Kluszewski G (rounded corners, surface crease top to bottom, light pen mark on back). Mathews EX (one dinged corner otherwise nicer). Campanella appears EX+ (faint hairline wrinkle on right side, paper loss, crisp card with minor corner wear).

MANTLE G- (worn edges and well rounded corners, creases, good color and presentable card). Wilhelm appears VGEX (no creases, corner wrinkling, pen mark on front).

Aparicio RC appears EXMT+ (very crisp card, minor print spots by top edge, faint water stain on front, light wax stain on back). Reese VGEX+/EX (crisp card with sharp corners, off center, one corner wrinkle by bottom right). Slaughter EXMT/EXMT+ (crisp card with very minor corner wear). Hodges VG+/VGEX (corner wear, surface crease by upper right). Roberts EX (corner wear only, no creases).

Feller appears VGEX (chunk missing out of bottom right corner, corner wrinkles, light wax on back). Mays VGEX (surface creases, rough bottom right edge). Rizzuto VG- (crease left to right otherwise would be close to EX). Fox VG+ (edge wear on bottom, light wax on back).

Ashburn appears EX/EX+ (crisp card, just miscut). Snider G/VG (rounded corners, surface crease).

Shoendienst appears VGEX+/EX (tape stains, NO creases). Yankees appears VG+ (corner wear, tiny pen mark on front, two tiny wax stains on back, surface wrinkle, tiny paper loss on front). Wynn VG/VG+ (off center, surface crease). Wilhelm VG (appears nicer, surface crease). Larsen EX (corner wear only, bottom left dinged).

McDermott EXMT (light wax on back). Set is overall NICELY presentable and FAIRLY clean. BRIGHT COLORS throughout and backs VERY clean overall. Displayed in clean and clear NEW sheets as shown in pictures (no album). LOTS of break-up and resale value.

Hard to find out there in any grade for a reasonable price. Priced fairly for a collector to enjoy, or break it apart, get cards graded and use it as an investment. Perfect as a gift for friends or family.
